1. Documents

1.1 Documentation in terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), must be provided to transact with Bidvest Bank (‘the Bank’).

    If you are a new customer, you are required to first be successfully onboarded before you can place an order and conclude your transaction.

1.2 The following documents will be required:

    Travelling by air – passport, air ticket / e-ticket, identification document
    Travelling by bus – passport, bus ticket, identification document
    Travelling by car – passport, car registration, identification document
    Travelling by train – passport, train ticket, identification document
    Travelling by sea – passport, cruise ticket, identification document

1.3 Acceptable identification documents include a green bar-coded or Smart Card ID.

2. Ordering of Foreigne Currency Notes / Cards

2.1 Where you opt for note delivery, the amount cannot exceed the equivalent of R30,000.00.

2.2 Your World Currency Card™ will only be activated after delivery.

2.3 Please check your travel details before placing an order to allow for reasonable processing delivery times.

2.4 In terms of Exchange Control Rulings and Regulations, you may only order forex within 60 (sixty) days of the date of your departure.

2.5 Please read the following carefully

If you have not received confirmation within 10 (ten) minutes of completing your order, kindly contact the Customer Contact Centre of Excellence on 0860 11 11 77.

3. Delivery

3.1 You will receive an SMS notification prior to delivery to advise that the courier is en route as well as on arrival of the courier at the agreed delivery address.

3.2 The courier will wait for a maximum of 5 (five) minutes before departing and in circumstances where the courier was unable to reach you.

3.3 You must be in possession of green bar-coded identity document, card or valid passport.

3.4 When placing an order and selecting the delivery option, please check that your delivery area is available as delivery is only offered in the following metropolitan areas and their associated suburbs:

    City of Cape Town
    Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (East Rand)
    City of eThekwini (Durban)
    City of Johannesburg
    City of Tshwane (Pretoria)

3.4 Delivery is unfortunately not available for the following metropolitan areas:

    Buffalo City (East London)
    Mangaung Municipality (Bloemfontein)
    Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (Port Elizabeth)
    Areas outside of City of Cape Town
    Northern Cape
    Limpopo

4. Foreign Exchange

4.1 Should delivery be unsuccessful your order will be bought back at the prevailing foreign exchange rate of the day.

4.2 Any exchange rate losses incurred will be for your account. Rand currency owed to you will be refunded to the originating account or payment card.

4.3 In terms of the provisions of Regulation 2(5), any unused foreign currency must be resold within 30 days to an Authorised Dealer post travel.

5. Processing

5.1 Processing times may be affected should the Bank require additional information or documentation to conclude your order.

5.2 Placing an order with an expired passport could impact the processing time by which the Bank would need to validate a new passport.

6. Packaging

Ensure that the packaging of your order has not been tampered with. Should it appear that the package/content has been tampered with, please contact the branch indicated on your receipt directly.
